Sketches for Paintings of Community-led Clean Energy Installations

Finished paintings will be approximately 72” x 54” and painted with water-mixable oil paints.

The style of these paintings is inspired by Renaissance masters: Da Vinci, Raphael, Michelangelo and painters inspired by the Renaissance, including Rembrandt, Gericault and Friedrich.

People rendered in the paintings will include Portland’s leading environmentalists, social justice advocates, and community organizers, including Mark Lakeman and other City Repair organizers, district/neighborhood owned clean energy pioneer John Sorenson, urban density theorist and architect Rick Potestio, Center for Intercultural Organizing founder Kayse Jamma, among others. 

The intention of these paintings is to inspire a community-led Clean Energy Renaissance.

  2. I am involved in what is called “The Village Movement.” (See New York Times on Beacon Hill Village.) We are in the process of establishing a new Village in Pasadena California. Your ‘Barn Raising’ images perfectly symbolize what the village concept is all about. I am wondering if you would give me permission to use some off these images in recruitment presentations.

    I would, of course, be happy to give you whatever additional information you would require.
